Washington Alternate Assessment System (WAAS)

Accommodations

Washington state offers a variety of testing accommodations that remove barriers caused by a student’s disability, or lack of English language proficiency, so test scores can accurately reflect a student’s true knowledge and skills.

Accommodations may not be provided solely as a way to help ensure proficiency on the standards. The ultimate goal of any accommodation is meaningful measurement of what the student has learned.
