Private Schools Summer Conference

The 8th Annual Private Schools Summer Conference
Creating a Dynamic and Engaging Classroom

What are dynamic and engaging classrooms?

What do they look, feel, and sound like?

How can teachers create these kinds of classrooms?

What’s it like to be a student in these classrooms?

Join international instructional leaders Kimberly L. Mitchell and Maggie Chumbley in exploring these questions and refining your classroom instructional practices. We will share five key inquiry based instructional strategies* that foster dynamic and engaging classrooms using video, small group activities, and discussions. Participants will experience a full lesson simulation where we will model these strategies. Finally, time will be offered for planning, reflection, and feedback. Teachers of every grade level and subject area will leave energized, renewed, and ready for the next school year with concrete strategies they can implement right away.

The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) is pleased to announce the Private Schools Annual Summer Conference. The conference topic of Creating a Dynamic and Engaging Classroom shall be provided to private school teachers, administrators, and other educational personnel in three (3) two-day sessions of professional development training, for a total of six (6) trainings. These conferences will offer excellent professional development opportunities to our private school educators in Washington.
