State Assessment

Reading Assessment involves two tests: the Measurements of Student Progress for grades 3-8, and the High School Proficiency Exam. These tests replace the WASL, which was the state's assessment until 2009, and are given every spring. The state assessment is designed to help schools and districts determine whether students have met the K-10 Reading Learning Standards.

Reading Assessment Resources provide examples and applications that can be used in the classroom or at home to help students understand what is being asked of them on the assessment.
