  English Language Arts

English Language Arts includes reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language. We collaborate on literacy support with the state’s nine Educational Service Districts, the Department of Early Learning, and several state and federal programs.

Learning Standards
Washington has adopted the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects. The standards do not take the place of content standards in other subjects.
