Washington Reading Corps (WRC)

The mission of the Washington Reading Corps (WRC) is to improve reading abilities of K-6 students across Washington state. This is achieved through research-based tutoring of struggling readers and effective collaborations among schools, families, community members, National Service, businesses and state partners.

Washington Reading Corps Recruiting Host Sites

The Washington Reading Corps needs 71 elementary schools, early learning centers and community organizations to host a Reading Corps member for the coming school year. The application deadline is Oct. 1.

Already, 184 schools and centers have signed up to host members who tutor struggling students, work with teachers on literacy projects and plan literacy events for parents and students.

But the Reading Corps needs 71 more!
