Superintendent's Statement
OLYMPIA - April 20, 2010 - State Superintendent Randy Dorn today released two items related to the high cost of drinking and driving: a letter addressed to all high school students and a public service announcement.
Dorn sent the letter to all superintendents and high school principals and will offer the public service announcement to radio stations around the state.
“As I’ve said before, I want this to be a teachable moment,” Dorn said. “Prom and graduation season is coming up, and I want students to understand that the choices they make now can have consequences for years. I want them to learn from me.”
Earlier this month, Dorn pleaded guilty to driving under the influence, for which he spent 24 hours in jail.
