Washington Alternate Assessment System (WAAS)

The WAAS-DAPE is an off-grade level assessment available to 11th and 12th graders in the content areas they are qualified and receiving services in. The IEP team will determine at what grade band the student is assessed based on the student’s individual needs.

If circumstances prevented the student from assessing via the HSPE or HSPE-BASIC in 10th grade, the WAAS-DAPE is still an available option for qualified students once they reach 11th and 12th grade.

For more information about the testing dates for WAAS-DAPE please visit our Key Dates Calendar.

For more information about the state’s Alternate Assessment program, please contact the Alternate Assessment office waas@k12.wa.us or (360) 725-6089.
